Marienne graduated from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in 1996. She joined Winterbach Pretorius and Letetele Architects in Pretoria in 1997 where she worked on several projects for The Department of Public Works, requiring extensive public consultation and delivering projects to numerous stakeholders. Marienne relocated to London in 1999 and worked for Hunters and Partners, Dalziel and Powell and Price Macniven on retail roll-out programmes and refurbishment of listed offices.
Since joining Michael Aukett Architects in 2000, Marienne has worked on many of the office’s high profile projects; TTPCom HQ which was won through limited competition, the highly publicised Croydon Gateway Arena and 150 Cheapside, which has been shortlisted for numerous awards. Marienne has written articles for all these projects.
She has also worked on several retail projects from stand-alone retail stores to complex mixed-use developments with a retail element. Marienne played a key role in establishing an office in India in 2006 for the Reliance retail roll-out programme.
